What is Alcoholism? Alcoholism is the body's dependence on Alcohol. Alcoholism is a gradual process that causes the Alcoholic to have to drink more and more to obtain the same high. This is called am increased tolerance. An increased tolerance of Alcohol in your body allows you to drink someone under the table, or have a better ability to hold in your liqour.

Many Teens start drinking because they feel that their friends will think their cool or because they see people on television who look funny or popular when they are drinking.

Short Term effects of Alcohol

As alcohol moves through your body physical effects begin to occur. Clumsiness, slurred speech, stumbling, throwing up, or problems staying upright. Many teens feel that alcohol makes them funnier and easygoing, but alcohol can cause someone to lash out in violence instead. Alcohol seriously impairs the body's ability to drive. Just three drinks is proven to impair the ability to drive by 12%.
